The 8th International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery & Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS) congress was held in Rio de Janeiro-Brazil May 15-19 2011.
For the first time at an ISAKOS congress, a sports rehabilitation course was part of the official programme. Dr. Snyder-Mackler, Dr.J.Irrgang (both of the USA), Drs. M. Cohen and M. Garcia (both of Sao Paolo, Brazil) were the organizers of an exciting three-day symposium, where internationally-renowned speakers presented the latest evidence-based guidelines on various topics related to orthopaedics and sports physical therapy. The course attracted about 300 participants (most from Brazil and South America. It was a unique opportunity for attendees to interact with sports PT colleagues from all over the world.
