A Special Football Medical Conference
Mai 24, 2012
23-24.05.2012 - Budapest, Hungary. The 2nd FIFA Medical Conference was held for the first time in conjunction with the annual FIFA congress (the 62nd), and delegates from the 208 Member Associations (countries, in other words) were attending. Among the presented topics: injury prevention, 11+, 11 for health, anti-doping, and the sudden cardiac arrest/death. As stated by Prof. Efraim Kramer (SA), world-expert in emergency medicine, only the use of a defibrillator (AED, automated external defibrillator) can save a player's life, when he/she collaps on a football pitch. AEDs should be available at all football and sports venues: worldwide, there's is still a lot to do to reach this goal...
