Sept 28 … an intensive week comes to an end …what a trip! (as one of our friends said)
We’re now looking forward to finalize the “F-MARC 11+ documentary”.
We travel to Teresopolis (2 hours form Rio), where the Brasil Women national team is preparing towards the PanAmerican Games. Eduardo, the conditioning coach, has a warm up (including 11+ drills), a sprint test and the yo-yo test on his daily program. Cony, after filming the sessions, also realizes some interviews with players (Maurine, Thais and Formiga), the coach Kleiton Lima and other staff members. Unfortunately, Marta and Cristiane are joining the team later, and are not present today.
Stefan and Sascha travel with Joao (our friend at CBF) and the Brasil national team to Belem, where two days later the match “EL Clasico” against Argentina is planned . Our guys can film and interview (for the 11 For Health, the other F-MARC project) young shooting star Neymar and the “old” star Ronaldinho, the two most popular players in Brasil.
Today FLAMENGO plays against America G at Engenhao stadium. The attendance is less than 10000 people (FLA has no wins in the last 10, after having won the Campeonado Carioca in the spring). Before the match, our team can film all the locker roon activities, including the warm up, performed in aroom inside the stadium (a typical ritual in Brasil). Finally FLA wins 2:1, with our friend Thiago Neves (jersey nr 7) scoring the game winning goal.
In the afternoon the first team of FLAMENGO has a light training, because on the next day an official match of the brasilian championsship is scheduled. We can film players in the gym, in the medical room (with our friend Dr. José Runco), at the physio, on the pitch, and do interviews with star player Thiago Neves and renowned coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo. Ronaldinho shows up briefly and disappears in the massage room.
This morning we visit the FLAMENGO training center outside Rio. All youth teams have incorporated since months the 11+ program in their training sessions. We’ve the opportunity to film with the U-15 team, to interview few kids, the athletic trainers and our friend Dr. Marcio Tannure.
From September 22 to 27, we’ll be in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil to collect filming material for the planned “11+ documentary”.
The following highlights are scheduled: Flamengo youth team, Flamengo first team, Brasil Female National Team, and Brasil National Team star players as Neymar and Ronaldinho.
The F-MARC team: Stefan Klameth, Cony von Grebel, Sascha Felix and myself.
Compliments my friend Marcel (Jenni, Nr. 10, Kloten Flyers). At the age of 37 years, and 6.5 months after a major knee reconstructive surgery, he gave his come back in an official Swiss National League game in Lugano. Marcel worked very hard and seriously (also at “Hossli’s House of Pain”) for this goal!
